Geoff is a Partner in our Corporate (M&A, capital markets and corporate governance) team.
Geoff advises on a range of corporate transactions, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, farm-in and joint ventures, mining royalties and Australia’s foreign investment framework, with a strong focus on the mining sector, as well as partnerships and M&A in the renewable energy and power sectors. He also advises ASX listed companies on corporate governance matters, including reserves and resource (JORC Code) reporting, ASX Listing Rules compliance and Annual General Meetings.

- Gold Fields on its acquisition of ASX listed Gold Resources Limited via scheme of arrangement
- Base Resources on its acquisition by NYSE and TSX listed Energy Fuels Inc via scheme of arrangement
- BGC Australia on the sale of its BGC Cementitious, BGC Lightweight Materials and BGC Contracting businesses, via separate competitive sales processes
- INPEX Corporation on its investment in 50% of Enel S.p.A’s Australian renewable energy business, Enel Green Power Australia (now Potentia Energy)
- Synergy on the creation of the Bright Energy Investments renewables platform and Warradarge Wind Farm development (Stage 1 and Stage 2)
- Yancoal on its acquisition of Rio Tinto’s Coal & Allied business (including acquiring Mitsubishi’s minority joint venture interests) and establishing the Hunter Valley Operations joint venture with Glencore (2018 M&A Deal of the Year, Australasian Law Awards)
- multiple offshore private equity funds on strategic investments in the Australian mining sector
