Rebekah is a New Zealand-qualified senior associate in our Disputes Resolution team.

Rebekah is experienced in commercial litigation, with a particular focus on complex contractual disputes and proceedings arising from alleged anti-competitive conduct.  Based in our London office, she advises clients in a number of sectors including transport, consumer and media.

Selected matters

  • acting for a Virgin Group entity, succeeding in trial in a claim relating to a third party’s repudiatory breach of a trademark licence agreement regarding use of the Virgin brand
  • acting for Bernie Ecclestone in a claim for unlawful means conspiracy brought by former Formula One driver, Felipe Massa, in relation to the 2008 Formula One World Championship and “Crashgate”
  • acting for Iveco and Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler) in relation to follow-on damages claims commenced in the UK and in Europe, arising from the European Commission's finding of a competition infringement in Trucks
  • acting for a major UK energy provider in an expert determination
  • advising a major UK company on the implications of Covid-19 restrictions for significant commercial contracts

Background

Rebekah has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) from the University of Otago in New Zealand.  She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in September 2013. Rebekah has appeared as counsel in the High Court and District Courts of New Zealand, and as junior counsel in the Court of Appeal and High Court of New Zealand.
