Sebastian Davies-Mills
Sebastian is a solicitor in the Sydney Disputes team.
Sebastian has experience working on complex, high risk reputationally significant commercial disputes and regulatory investigations.
Sebastian has a particular focus on the banking and financial services sector and has advised a range of Australian and foreign financial institutions. Sebastian also has experience advising on ASIC enquiries and investigations into alleged greenwashing as well as advising on AML/CTF obligations and AUSTRAC related enquiries and engagements.
Prior to joining the Sydney Disputes team, Sebastian was seconded to a large ASX listed company to help facilitate the sale of a part of their business and is experienced in assisting to work with internal and external stakeholders.
Sebastian is also the Co-Chair of the Sydney Disputes Culture Committee where he contributes to practice group initiatives that are centred around nurturing the culture of our disputes practice group.

- acting in defence of a class action regarding the interest rates paid on certain superannuation investment options.
- advising a number of organisations in relation to ‘greenwashing’ ESG enquiries and investigations being conducted by ASIC.
- acting in defence of a product liability class action regarding pharmaceutical products sold in Australia.
- advising financial institutions in relation to their obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act.
- 2006 (Cth) and their strategic regulatory engagement with AUSTRAC.
- representing multiple individuals (employed in senior positions within major Australian listed organisations) in relation to ASIC investigations into alleged contraventions of the Corporations Act and ASIC Act.

Sebastian holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Technology, Sydney and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW and in the High Court of Australia.
