The Amendment Bill was published by the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources on 20 May 2025 and interested and affected parties are invited to submit comments on it by 13 August 2025. The Bill represents the most significant changes to South Africa’s mineral law regime since the enactment of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act in 2002.
