Friederieke Seen
Friederieke is an Associate in the Financial Services Regulatory team in our Dispute Resolution practice in Frankfurt.
She advises international and German banks, financial institutions, securities institutions, insurance undertakings, and payment service providers. Her practice includes providing assessments on the applicability of European and German law, supporting clients in contentious and non-contentious regulatory proceedings, advising on financial and corporate transactions as well as commercial agreements with a particular focus on regulatory aspects and assisting in both, internal and external investigations.

- T&D Holdings, as part of a consortium with Allianz and BlackRock, on the acquisition of a majority stake in Viridium Group from Cinven
- an international investment bank on various regulatory matters, including compliance with the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG), market abuse and market manipulation issues, as well as obligations under the German Anti-Money Laundering Act (GwG)
- an international investment bank in connection with investigations in ongoing criminal proceedings, including regulatory aspects
- an international management and holding company in administrative offence proceedings initiated by the German supervisory authority (BaFin)
- an international management and holding company on regulatory aspects of corporate transactions involving regulated entities, including qualifying holding procedures
- Mizuho Securities and Greenhill as to financial regulatory laws, including on regulatory remuneration requirements
- a global financial institution on regulatory aspects of individual remuneration matters and remuneration policies

Background
Friederieke graduated in law at the Justus-Liebig-University Gießen and completed her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main.
Before joining Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer as an Associate in 2024, she worked as a Research Assistant in Banking/Finance and Corporate/M&A for leading German law firms. She is fluent in English in addition to her native German.
