Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, in collaboration with the British-Kazakh Society (BKS), is pleased to invite you to a panel discussion and informal networking session as part of Kazakhstan Week in London 2026.

The panel will discuss: "Sustainable Infrastructure in Central Asia: ESG, Investment, and Emerging Disputes Risks".

As Central Asia sees increasing investment in large-scale infrastructure projects, ESG considerations are playing a growing role in how projects are financed, structured and delivered. At the same time, investors and states are navigating evolving legal, regulatory and disputes risks across the region. With a close focus on Central Asia and drawing on perspectives from development finance, project delivery and international dispute resolution, the panel will explore how sustainable infrastructure projects are approached in practice, how ESG standards are shaping decision-making, and where key risks — and potential disputes — arise.

Speakers include:

  • Dr Patricia Nacimiento
Partner, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, Frankfurt
    Head of Dispute Resolution (Germany)
  • Ekaterina Miroshnik
Director and Head of Infrastructure, Eurasia, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
