Leading global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has advised global supply chain giant Li & Fung on its acquisition of UK hosiery, underwear and loungewear producer Orrsum.
The deal was Li & Fung’s first acquisition in over a decade, and the first since its privatisation in 2020.
Li & Fung manages global supply chains, exporting goods from over 30 economies to connect brands and retailers. Founded in 1998, Orrsum designs, produces and delivers over 50 million pairs of socks annually to more than 5,000 retail stores worldwide.
"Li & Fung is the supply-chain power behind so much of the clothing and goods that we buy in stores around the world," said Hong Kong partner Anthony Vasey, who led the deal team.
"We're delighted to have advised Li & Fung on this transaction and assist UK success story Orrsum to expand its products and production to new retail markets worldwide."
Anthony was assisted by associates Yusra Jafar and Praveena N.S. in Hong Kong.
Additional UK advice was provided by the firm's specialist teams in London, including tax partner Casey Dalton and senior associate Perminder Gainda, IP senior associate Giulia Maienza, and employment partner Christine Young and associate Lydia Carrington.
