HSF are delighted to host this clinic-style event on behalf of the Legal Neurodiversity Network. Following the release of the LNN's first publication, focused on retention and career progression, we will be delving into some of the key topics.
Representatives from HSF, Addleshaw Goddard, Linklaters, Farrer & Co, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and BCLP will be sharing their insights in the following short clinics:
-
Implementing an adjustments policy or commitment
-
Hear from HSF and BCLP on their formal adjustments commitment/policy and how they implemented them.
-
-
The business case for supporting employees to obtain a diagnosis
-
Gain insight from Farrer & Co and Linklaters into why organisations are supporting their people to obtain a diagnosis, developing the business case and the internal process to deliver this support.
-
-
Taking a strategic approach to neuroinclusion
-
Hear from HSF and Addleshaw Goddard on their strategic approaches and explore strategic solutions to barriers faced by individuals who are neurodivergent.
-
-
Role models and everyday inclusion
-
Hear from HSF on their role modelling and adjustments campaign, explore top tips for everyday neuroinclusion with Freshfields (going beyond formal 'reasonable adjustments') and hear a successful case study from an associate where a team has adapted well.
-
Sessions will be 30 minutes, they will run simultaneously and most will be repeated to allow you to delve into multiple topics. Conversations can then continue over refreshments from 6pm.
The event logistics have been organised in a neuroinclusive way, considerations include; a quiet room; short, focused sessions in medium-sized groups; volunteers to help guide attendees to the right place and; allowing time between sessions to avoid a rush. If there's anything specific you'd like to be considered, please let us know in the registration form.
You are welcome to only join for refreshments and networking from 6pm, please specify this when you register.
About the publication:
'Recommendations for optimising retention and career progression for neurodivergent individuals in the legal profession' aims to provide a digestible guide to the types of adjustments to maximise the potential of neurodivergent employees - and to promote a working environment where everyone feels valued, seen and understood. Our recommendations have been grouped into three keys themes - People, Processes and Place - each of which represent a fundamental part of neuro-inclusive good practice within the workplace.
You can find the publication here.
