Frank Main
Frank is an experienced energy and resources lawyer who has advised major mining companies on complex legal, commercial and strategic matters across the mining lifecycle.
His experience spans the full spectrum of the resources industry, from early-stage exploration and project development through to operations, joint ventures, strategic transactions and offtake arrangements.
Frank has extensive experience negotiating, structuring and managing complex joint venture arrangements, including working directly in commercial roles. This combination of legal and commercial experience gives him a practical understanding of the challenges facing mining companies, investors and project developers, and the importance of aligning legal outcomes with broader business objectives.
Having undertaken multiple secondments within major mining companies, Frank has developed a strong appreciation of the demands placed on in-house legal teams. He understands the need for legal advice that is commercially focused, responsive and pragmatic, and that supports decision-making rather than simply identifying legal risks.
Frank brings a genuine understanding of how mining businesses operate, combining technical legal expertise with commercial judgement and an appreciation of the competing priorities involved in advancing and operating resource projects.
His experience includes:
- Complex commercial and strategic transactions
- Joint ventures and earn-in arrangements
- Mining and operational contracts
- Offtake, marketing and commodity sales arrangements
- Corporate transactions, acquisitions and disposals and restructuring
- Commercial negotiations
- Regulatory and governance advice
- In-house legal support and strategic commercial advice.
