Joseph Sabbagh
Joseph is a senior associate specialising in commercial litigation, with a strong academic background and a strategic approach.
Joseph has acted in matters in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the Federal Court of Australia, and has appeared in the Magistrates Court of Western Australia. He has acted in several high-profile commercial disputes across a broad range of sectors including climate, mining, energy, banks, infrastructure, and construction, and also acts in public law matters, including administrative law, freedom of information and privacy.
Joseph’s experience includes advising on contract disputes, “greenwashing” actions under the Australian Consumer Law, applications and appeals before the Information Commissioner, equity and trusts, and restitution. Joseph also advises on insolvency law (including issues arising under the PPSA and the IPS).
He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.

Background
Joseph graduated from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor of Civil Law, and holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia, and an Advanced Certificate in Insolvency from ARITA. Whilst at Oxford, Joseph studied Commercial Remedies, Restitution, and International Economic Law.
Before joining the firm, Joseph worked at the Supreme Court of Western Australia as the Associate to a general division judge. He has tutored the postgraduate Commercial Remedies, and Equity & Trusts units at the UWA Law School since 2021.
