Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Swiss AI platform provider Yokoy on its successfully completed acquisition by TravelPerk, the leading global travel management platform.
The acquisition of Yokoy and the comprehensive integration into an open ecosystem of strategic partners in spend management, will enable TravelPerk to offer to its customers in Europe and the USA highly customized T&E solutions. Both companies have been working together since 2020.
Yokoy, established in Switzerland in 2019, provides an innovative AI-driven end-to-end solution for spend management in medium-sized and large companies. Yokoy is Europe's market leader and was backed by investors such as Sequoia Capital, Left Lane Capital, Balderton Capital, Speedinvest, Visionaries Club, SIX Ventures Fund, and Swisscom Ventures. With around 250 employees at six locations worldwide Yokoy serves more than 700 customers globally.
TravelPerk, founded in Barcelona in 2015, is a fast-growing SaaS platform for business travel and is based on its USD 200m Series E financing round valued at USD 2.7bn. With over 1,200 employees at eight locations in Europe and the USA, TravelPerk helps more than 6,000 customers worldwide - including Red Bull, GetYourGuide and Aesop - to get the most out of their business travel.
