She advises on energy project development, transactions, structuring, offtake and regulatory matters. She practices nationally across Australia and acts for clients in Asia.
Cassandra is particularly known for her pragmatic and technically-backed approach. Her deep understanding of the industry and its legal frameworks results in swift and incisive advice to clients.
Cassandra's expertise includes renewable projects, grid connection, energy storage, power purchase agreements, energy retail and "new energy", hydrogen, e-mobility and EVs, natural gas transport, supply and storage, LNG sale and purchase, joint ventures, farm-ins and acquisitions & divestments, carbon neutral offerings, carbon offsets, green products and carbon capture & storage.

Selected matters
- Structuring, offtake, network and connection advice for solar, wind and battery projects across Australia. Acted on developer and offtaker roles including for Corporate PPAs, BESS tolling models, ISDAs and LGC/REGO arrangements. Supported bidders on multiple tender rounds for the Capacity Investment Scheme Agreements (CISAs) and Long Term Energy Services Agreements (LTESAs).
- AGL on a long term PPA with Tilt Renewables in respect of the Waddi Wind Farm in Western Australia, one of the first large-scale wind PPAs entered into there in several years. Under the Waddi PPA, AGL will offtake 100% of the project's expected 105 MW output.
- Lenders on the successful close of a A$460 million construction finance facility for Akaysha Energy’s 311 MW / /1244 MWh Elaine Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Victoria, Australia. The work involved detailed due diligence on energy regulation and landmark 15-year virtual tolling agreement with Snowy Hydro.
- NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy & Water on the first Renewable Energy Transformation Agreement (RETA) between the Commonwealth and NSW governments as part of the Capacity Investment Scheme. The RETA is a G2G agreement to achieve renewable targets through revenue contracts, network development, collaboration and approvals.
- Equinix (a data centre company) on its APAC PPA arrangements, including its first renewable PPA in Australia taking 151MW and LGCs from Tag Energy’s Golden Plains Wind Farm - East.
- Oil & gas producers and traders: on acquisitions and divestments, LNG marketing and trading, portfolio structuring and integration, LNG SPAs, LNG price reviews, the Australian Gas Market Code, ADGSM, gas supply and transport agreements, operational and decommissioning advice.
- Oil Search, then Santos on the PNG LNG and Papua LNG projects, including advising on integration arrangements, lifting and balancing, LNG marketing and ship chartering.
- Woodside on the US$12 billion expansion of the Pluto LNG Expansion Project and Scarborough tie-in arrangements.
- Funds, carbon sponsors, generators, telcos, oil & gas producers and other emitters: on decarbonisation strategies involving renewable energy procurement, development of carbon projects, carbon regulation and trading of carbon credits in regulated and voluntary carbon markets
- Market Participants, governments and regulators on energy market regulation and reforms across the generation, network (including Renewable Energy Zones), retail and "new energy" aspects of the supply chain.
- Gentari (a Petronas entity) on the billion-dollar acquisition of WIRCON GmbH's Australian renewable energy business Wirsol Energy.
- City of Melbourne on its “Power Melbourne” community battery project developed by Origin Energy.
- AGL Energy, Distribution Network Service Providers and charge point operators on EV charging and EV collaboration projects.
