Ben is an associate in the Competition, Regulation and Trade group.

Ben specialises in UK and EU competition law, with a particular focus on competition litigation. Ben advises clients on both follow-on and standalone claims brought in the UK’s Competition Appeal Tribunal (“CAT”) primarily in the Technology and TMT sectors.

  • Google in a series of claims in the UK brought by parties for abuse of dominance on grounds similar to the subject matter of the European Commission’s Decisions in Google Search (Shopping) (2017) and Google Search (AdSense) (2019)
  • Google in relation to a collective action brought in the CAT on behalf of the UK’s population following on from the European Commission’s Android Decision (2018) alleging that Google abused a dominant position in the online search market
  • BT in relation to a collective action brought in the CAT on behalf of a consumer class alleging that BT abused a dominant market position in a UK telecommunications market
