Mehdi specialises in project development and construction in the energy and infrastructures sectors across France, Europe and Africa.

Mehdi is a lawyer focusing on regulatory and public business law in the energy, transport and construction sectors.

He advises on industrial and commercial contracts relating to project development, including EPC, O&M, PPAs and CPPAs, consortium and joint development agreements. He has experience across the infrastructure (motorways, ports and airports, water and waste management, civil engineering, digital) and energy (solar, wind, battery energy storage, hydropower and power grids) sectors.

Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, Mehdi worked in other international law firms and major industrial groups, including TotalEnergies Renewables International and Vinci Concessions, where he developed a strong understanding of legal, commercial and technical challenges specific to those sectors, in France and beyond, in particular in Africa (Anglophone and Francophone), Asia and the Middle-East.

Mehdi has also worked as a public sector consultant, assisting local authorities and public administrations with auditing, managing and improving public services and infrastructures.

Background

Mehdi is admitted to the Paris Bar. He holds a Master 2 in Public Affairs from Sciences Po Bordeaux and a Master 2 in Public Business Law from the University of Bordeaux.

He is also graduate of the Institut de Droit Public des Affaires de Paris and holds a university degree in Energy Law from the University Paris I Panthéon‑Sorbonne.
