Nicholas Lamanna
Nicholas is a senior associate based in our Melbourne Office, within our employment, industrial relations and safety practice.
Nicholas is experienced in guiding and assisting clients through complex and challenging industrial and employment matters. This includes working with clients to navigate Australia’s constantly evolving workplace laws and exploring how these changes impact an organisation’s workforce.
Nicholas has broad experience in industrial relations and employment matters, having previously worked alongside preeminent employment law barristers and from his time as an Associate at the Fair Work Commission, Australia’s national workplace relations tribunal.
During his time at HSF Kramer, he has used this experience, and built on it, to support clients as they navigate Australia’s employment law and industrial relations landscape. This includes guiding organisations through the enterprise bargaining process, periods of industrial action, major change and restructuring projects and complex industrial and employment disputes at the Fair Work Commission.

Nicholas’s experience includes:
- supporting a major utilities provider with complex payroll compliance and enterprise agreement/award interpretation projects;
- guiding aviation sector clients through periods of industrial action and the new intractable bargaining jurisdiction;
- helping employers navigate new and sweeping rounds of industrial relations reforms;
- assisting organisations with enterprise bargaining negotiations, from the commencement of bargaining and drafting right through to the FWC approval process and appeals; and
- advising clients through employment legal litigation and disputes, including employment termination and redundancy disputes and assisting large organisations undertaking a major change and restructuring process.
