Shaesta is a Senior Associate in our employee, pensions and incentives team, who is based in our Melbourne office.
Shaesta is a work health and safety specialist, with extensive experience in advising major organisations operating in complex, highly regulated environments.
Shaesta advises clients across the rail, transport, major infrastructure, manufacturing and other industries on all aspects of WHS/OHS including safety governance, regulatory compliance, serious incidents and investigations. She has particular experience in environments involving multiple regulators, overlapping regulatory requirements and complex interfaces between operators, contractors and other duty holders.
Shaesta is valued by clients for her pragmatic, responsive and solutions-focused approach and is a trusted advisor during serious incidents and sensitive regulatory matters for her calm approach and ability to manage competing legal, regulatory and operational considerations.

Selected matters
- Provision of regular and ongoing support to a rail industry client on its response to serious workplace and rail incidents including internal investigations, regulator engagement and operational responses.
- Provision of specialist investigations expertise to a Big Build client, leading workplace, conduct, and WHS investigations while helping the organisation navigate regulatory, legal, and reputational risks.
- Supported a chemical manufacturing business in responding to a significant operational incident, including regulatory liaison, incident investigations, and corrective action planning.
- Assisted with the resolution of criminal occupational health and safety proceedings through the negotiation and implementation of an enforceable undertaking.
- Advised and assisted a major hazard facility (MHF) operator through the MHF licensing process, including safety case development, regulatory submissions, and stakeholder engagement.

Shaesta hold a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology from the University of Canterbury.
