In July 2020, Litigation associate Seth F. Schinfeld, with assistance from Managing Clerk Liliya Suris, successfully petitioned the Civil Court of the City of New York for a legal name change for O.D., a transgender client referred to the firm by the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund (TLDEF). O.D (pronouns: they/them/theirs) was assigned female at birth but identifies as gender non-binary. O.D. worked closely with the Kramer Levin team to facilitate their name change and is excited to be recognized by their chosen name.
