On 6 April 2025 the UK's new consumer protection regime came into force. The changes, introduced under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, include a new direct enforcement regime for the CMA as well as a number of changes to the substantive law, aimed at improving and modernising consumer rights in order to ensure they keep pace with market developments, in particular the trend towards online retail and advertising.
In this podcast we take you through the key features of the new, enhanced regime and we are joined by guest speaker Amy McMeekin, Head of Competition and Consumer Law at Sainsbury's, who provides some insights on the impact of the changes for businesses. You can listen on iTunes, Spotify or SoundCloud, on any device.
