The EU Commission has just published the first drafts of its Sustainability Omnibus Regulation.
The Sustainability Omnibus Regulation has generated significant anticipation for its promise to ease the 'regulatory burden' on EU companies in the name of promoting competitiveness—one of the key recommendations of the influential Draghi Report.
While the EU remains a global leader in sustainability regulation, the three pillars of EU sustainability regulation —the CSRD, CS3D, and EU Taxonomy—are highly technical, and many organizations have experienced implementation challenges. The new Commission states that simplifying these was one of its priorities.
We will be analysing and providing commentary on the proposals throughout the day and coming weeks, including a Webinar on 5 March 2025 (which you can register for HERE). Please watch this space!
