This publication contains information on a broad range of legal areas, a sample of which is listed below. For the full list click on the link above. The developments include the new Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 which came into force on 1 October, gives details of the pilot of costs management procedures starting this month, the Agency Workers Regulations 2010 which came into force this month and the topical European Contract Law review.
Later this year there will be changes in relation to the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), the UN climate change negotiations and the review of the regulatory framework supporting the UK communications sector. Looking ahead to 2012, there will be a new pensions tax regime, the Kay Review of UK equity markets and long-term decision making and changes to the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme. The Timeline also looks further forward to developments in 2013 and 2014.
