There are so many ESG-related publications and developments that it is hard to keep abreast of them all. For this reason, every two weeks, our firm has been publishing a tracker of ESG-related publications and developments, with a primary focus on developments that may be of most interest to or impact our clients, be they corporates, asset managers or asset owners.

Key updates covered in this edition include:

  • The Network for Greening the Financial System’s report setting out seven “key takeaways” in relation to catalysing sustainable finance.
  • On 16 March 2021, the Spanish Cabinet approved the agreement adopting the final version of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan 2021-2030 and it was published in the official Spanish bulletin on 31 March 2021.
  • The European Securities and Markets Authority’s statement clarifying the application of transparency requirements by UK issuers admitted to trading on regulated markets.
  • The US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (“SEC”) new webpage which aggregates ESG and climate-related information released by the SEC.
  • Referral from the Spanish Parliament to the Senate of the Draft Law on Climate Change and Energy Transition.

If you have any ESG-related questions, please get in touch with your usual Herbert Smith Freehills contact who will be able to direct you as appropriate.
