Angelina Vukovic
Angelina is a senior associate based in our Brisbane office within the Employment, Industrial Relations and Safety practice.
Angelina advises on work health and safety, employment and industrial relations matters, with a particular focus on WHS prosecutions and regulatory investigations, industrial and employment litigation, and workplace investigations.
In her safety practice, she regularly assists clients to respond to regulatory investigations and enforcement action, and to defend criminal prosecutions under work health and safety legislation, including matters involving serious injuries, fatalities and executive officer liability. She also appears in the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court of Australia and the Fair Work Commission in complex industrial and employment disputes. Angelina is experienced in conducting and advising on workplace investigations into employee misconduct, including sensitive matters involving allegations of sexual harassment and other inappropriate workplace conduct.
She acts for clients across a range of industries, including mining and resources, construction, transport, logistics, infrastructure and financial services. Angelina is known for her measured, strategic and commercially focused approach to high-stakes matters, and for guiding clients through incidents and disputes involving significant legal and reputational risk.

Selected matters
- acting for a mining industry client in significant Federal Court proceedings concerning the interpretation and alleged contraventions of the Black Coal Mining Industry Award.
- advising an international shipping and logistics group on a highly sensitive sexual harassment matter, including litigation risk, regulatory exposure and compliance with an employer’s positive duty to prevent workplace sexual harassment.
- advising an ASX listed client on a large-scale payroll compliance project and its engagement with the Fair Work Ombudsman, including responding to statutory notices to produce.
- advising a ports authority on mapping safety obligations and mitigating exposure under overlapping safety regimes at its port, involving a complex interface between numerous PCBUs and the public.
- acting for major transport companies in relation to investigations by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator into separate incidents involving fatalities, including responding to numerous statutory notices compelling production of evidence.
- advising a mining industry client on a proposal to restructure its mining operations and on its response to allegations of breaches of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act.
- advising various employers on unfair dismissal and adverse action claims, and associated jurisdictional objections in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Circuit Court and Federal Court.
- acting for various companies in defending criminal charges alleging breaches of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) following serious safety incidents.

Angelina holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours Class 1) and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in International Relations and Psychology) from the University of Queensland. Angelina is admitted to practice as a solicitor of the High Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Queensland.
