Claire is a commercial litigator focusing on banking and financial services disputes.

Claire is a senior associate based in London with experience in commercial litigation and contentious regulatory matters. Claire has a specific focus on advising financial institutions on a wide range of contentious matters. 

Claire has spent time on secondment to our Tokyo office and on secondment to three global investment banks. Claire has obtained Rights of Audience (Civil) for the Higher Courts of England & Wales.

Selected matters

  • Société Générale in relation to a US$1.5 billion claim by the Libyan Investment Authority in relation to a series of derivative trades. The claim was successfully settled
  • A large UK retail bank in relation to a voluntary remediation exercise arising out of criminal proceedings, associated large scale banking disputes and a FCA investigation and enforcement of breaches of Principle 11
  • An international bank in relation to the successful settlement of €130 million claim involving allegations of bribery and transactions outside of capacity

Background

Claire read Classics at Trinity Hall, Cambridge and completed the GDL and LPC at BPP University. 

Claire trained with the firm in London and qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2015.
