Damian's practice focuses on commercial disputes and complex litigation matters. 

He has worked on cases at all levels of the Singapore courts, and has particular experience with arbitration-related litigation, acting in both setting aside as well as enforcement proceedings. He also advises on high value commercial mandates across the pharmaceutical, commodities trading, and digital assets (including stablecoin / cryptocurrency) sectors. 

While his practice focuses on corporate and commercial disputes, he is also involved in pro bono work and has experience with capital punishment cases relating to drug trafficking offences.

  • secured a landmark result for a major Indonesian state owned energy company in the first known Singapore International Commercial Court judgment granting a post award anti suit injunction.
  • successfully defended an international commodities trading company in High Court proceedings, securing the discharge of an interim anti suit injunction and obtaining a dismissal of the counterparty's anti suit and declaratory relief application.
  • advised a leading European headquartered multinational pharmaceutical group on strategic contracts in excess of USD 17 million.
  • acted in enforcement proceedings to recognise and enforce an arbitral award exceeding USD 200 million against a foreign oil and gas company.
  • acting for a leading global investment firm in the digital assets sector in a USD 150 million dispute involving alleged conversion, breach of trust, and breach of fiduciary duties.

Background

Damian has an LL.B (Hons) from the National University of Singapore. He is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
