Daniel is the firm’s Funding & Insurance Portfolio Manager in the Dispute Resolution practice, where he leads and advises on innovative financial solutions for clients involved in contentious matters.

He oversees the firm’s comprehensive dispute resolution risk portfolio and advises on a broad spectrum of financing arrangements for legal disputes, including on‑balance sheet funding, third‑party litigation and arbitration funding, alternative fee structures, and bespoke insurance solutions.

Leveraging his background in alternative assets and specialty finance, Daniel has negotiated complex investment funding and insurance deals on behalf of both claimants and defendants across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and the Netherlands. His experience includes financing intellectual property acquisitions and supporting high-profile claims involving Section 90/90A FSMA claims, shareholder actions, competition and commercial litigation, and mass torts. He has also advised on and financed matters spanning antitrust, collective proceedings and class actions (CAT Opt-Out Collective Actions and CPR 19.8), Chapter 11 bankruptcy, ESG-related disputes, international treaty arbitrations (including Bilateral Investment Treaty and Energy Charter Treaty), as well as regulatory actions, including whistleblower (qui tam) claims.

Daniel has also secured contingent risk insurance for clients, utilising his extensive network of brokers and insurers, to assist with M&A transactions and provide adverse cost and security for cost protection through ATE insurance.

Daniel has spearheaded operational improvements in process automation, quantitative and settlement modelling, risk management, and reporting within the firm. He leverages these enhanced capabilities to design tailored funding strategies aligned with each client’s case objectives and risk profile.

Background

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) (First Class) in Business Management and Spanish from the University of Surrey, along with a Global Graduate Award (Level 3) in French.

In addition to his degree, Daniel is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt and has earned certificates as an Automotive Finance Specialist (CertAutoFS) and in CGMA Digital Mindset, with a focus on Blockchain and Robotic Process Automation.

Before joining HSF Kramer, Daniel served as the Commercial and Operations Manager at Woodsford, a leading collective redress and litigation funder. He also held various roles at FCE Bank plc within the risk and compliance function of their wholesale and asset-backed credit division. In this capacity, he managed a portfolio exceeding $700 million across eight European locations, engaging in risk management activities such as financial underwriting and regulatory reporting, and worked as a Compliance Monitoring Officer and KYC subject matter expert, ensuring the bank's compliance with PRA, FCA, and other EU regulations.
