David Levine
David counsels and represents owners, purchasers, developers, investors, sponsors, lenders and other stakeholders in real estate transactions involving residential, commercial and mixed-use properties. His work spans acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and other equity investments, debt financings, refinancings and leasing. He guides clients from structuring through closing and beyond, including by preparing and negotiating transaction, loan and ancillary documents, coordinating due diligence, facilitating closings and addressing post-closing matters.
David also represents developers of complex condominium and cooperative projects, advising on governance structures designed to advance each project’s commercial objectives and long-term viability. He guides clients through condominium and cooperative formation and the offering and sales processes for both public and non-public offerings, working with development teams to prepare and review offering plans, applications for no-action letters and governing documents that meet regulatory requirements. He also advises fee owners and not-for-profit tenants on leasehold condominium structures that enable tenants to convert leasehold interests into ownership interests and qualify for nonprofit real property tax exemptions under New York law, as well as on the redevelopment of tenanted buildings into condominiums and other shared-ownership structures.
David’s experience representing stakeholders on all sides of estate transactions gives him a practical understanding of the competing priorities that shape negotiations.
Before joining the firm, David was an associate at one of New York’s leading boutique real estate firms.
