Gallant Guo
Gallant is a Hong Kong dispute resolution lawyer focusing on international arbitration and related court proceedings.
Gallant advises clients on cross-border commercial disputes, with a focus on international arbitration and related court proceedings. He has worked on matters involving financial institutions, private capital, digital assets, energy and major projects. His experience also includes acting as an independent tribunal secretary in English- and Chinese-language arbitrations and spending seven months on secondment to Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking Division. He works in English and Mandarin and speaks conversational Cantonese.
Gallant has worked on high-value commercial and investment arbitrations, including proceedings under the HKIAC, ICC, UNCITRAL and LCIA Rules. His experience spans disputes arising from joint ventures, shareholder and M&A arrangements, energy investments, digital-asset platforms, construction projects and financial services. He has also worked on arbitration-related court proceedings, commercial litigation and regulatory investigations for global financial institutions, private equity funds, technology businesses, Chinese state-owned enterprises and other multinational companies.
Before rejoining the firm as an associate, Gallant acted as an independent tribunal secretary in several cross-border arbitrations conducted in English and Chinese, including emergency arbitrations. During his training at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, he also spent half a year on secondment to Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking Division, where he reviewed and negotiated engagement letters and commercial contracts and worked with deal teams across ECM, DCM and M&A transactions.
Gallant has a particular interest in international law scholarship and the practical use of technology and AI in legal work.

Background
Gallant joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2023 and rejoined as an associate in 2026. He holds an LL.M. in International Arbitration and Dispute Settlement from Tsinghua University and completed the PCLL at City University of Hong Kong.
