Joseph is a commercial litigator working across a range of complex matters.

Joseph prides himself on being a results-driven and client-focussed lawyer, taking a strategic approach when working to solve the largest or the smallest issue. Given his strong academic background, Joseph knows that the devil is always in the detail.

Joseph has acted in several high-profile commercial disputes with sector-wide implications. Joseph works across a broad range of sectors including mining, energy, banks, infrastructure, agribusiness and construction. Joseph also maintains a strong public law practice, with a particular interest in information privacy.

Joseph’s experience includes advising on contractual disputes, “greenwashing” actions under the Australian Consumer Law, applications and appeals before the Information Commissioner, statutory trusts and draft legislation, and restitution. Joseph also advises on insolvency law (including issues arising under the PPSA and the IPS).

Background

Joseph graduated from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor of Civil Law, and also holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia. Joseph is admitted to practice in Australia. Before joining the firm, Joseph worked at the Supreme Court of Western Australia as an Associate to a general division judge.
