Ken is an associate specialising in commercial litigation and international arbitration.

Ken has been involved in complex commercial and investment litigation, arbitration proceedings, and arbitration-related court proceedings, including arbitration cases under HKIAC, ICC and SIAC rules. His practice covers a range of sectors such as financial institutions and private capital and technology.  

Ken was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in January 2024. Prior to that, he trained with Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer and was seconded to the firm’s London office for six months.

  • a major private equity firm in HKIAC proceedings seated in Hong Kong under a suite of Hong Kong and Korean law agreements arising from a secondary sale in the private equity market
  • a distress debt fund investor based in the US in respect of the enforcement steps of a US$100 million loan, including advising on the right and appropriate timing to initiate enforcement steps, the disposal of the security asset (listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong)
  • leading cryptocurrency institutions in arbitration and mediation related to investment, trade and user agreements
  • the successful defendant in the landmark C v D case before the Court of Final Appeal in Hong Kong
  • an international hospitality group in a SIAC arbitration in relation to disputes over operation of a luxury resort
  • a leading Swiss bank in a Hong Kong mis-selling litigation commenced by its former client in relation to the alleged mis-selling of certain foreign exchange accumulator and decumulator contracts
