Laurence is an Of Counsel in our Financial Sponsors Group specialising in Infrastructure and Private Equity.
Laurence is a corporate lawyer who has extensive experience advising leading private equity sponsors and infrastructure funds on a broad range of cross-border M&A transactions and investment transactions, with a particular focus on transport infrastructure assets and technology focused private equity transactions. Laurence advises clients on all stages of the investment cycle including acquisitions and disposals, co-investment and joint ventures, management equity plans, corporate governance, refinancings and corporate reorganisations.

Background
Laurence graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2010. After completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course, he qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2015.
Laurence worked in Hong Kong in 2020 – 2022 and in 2024 spent seven months on secondment to Global Infrastructure Partners. He joined Herbert Smith Freehills in 2026.
