Nicholas is a senior associate in the Energy Transition and Infrastructure Finance team in London.

Nicholas advises sponsors, lenders and other stakeholders in project and infrastructure finance matters, with broad experience on transactions ranging from the financing and acquisition of public-private partnerships, energy transition projects, mining and social and affordable housing.

Nicholas’s experience spans projects and clients in the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia and Africa, with a particular focus on cross-border and emerging market financings.

  • lenders on the financing of two renewable energy projects for Clean Max Tasman Private Limited and VEH Green Energy Private Limited (CleanMax) in India under the external commercial borrowing framework (Asia Pacific Onshore Wind Deal of the Year, IJGlobal Awards 2025)
  • African Export-Import Bank on an up to US$750 million reserve-based loan to Heirs Energies to refinance its existing reserve-based loan
  • The Project Company and Sponsors in relation to the development and financing of Stage 2A and concurrent refinancing of Stage 1 of the Canberra Light Rail in Australia
  • The Project Company in relation to ongoing aspects of the A$2.5 billion Sydney Light Rail PPP Project including the 2019 restructure of the Project Documents and amendments to the Finance Documents to accommodate a staged completion
  • GuarantCo and British International Investment in relation to an innovative $100 million of default guarantee finance to be provided to Etana Energy, a South African energy trading company
  • The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, through the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific (AIFFP) and Export Finance Australia (as lender of record) in relation to loans made to governments and private sector entities for projects in the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
  • Ampol Limited on the debt facilities for the acquisition by Scheme of Arrangement of Z Energy, a publicly listed company on the Australian and NZ stock exchanges
