Noel has experience in commercial disputes, with specific experience in relation to banking and financial services disputes and group actions.

Noel has spent time on secondment to our Hong Kong office, where he worked in our Corporate Crime & Investigations team.

  • an international foreign exchange broker on its defence of a c.£50m group claim brought by investors in a foreign exchange trading scheme involving allegations of dishonest assistance and knowing receipt which has involved parallel proceedings in the Federal Court in Colorado
  • Standard Chartered plc on its defence of a claim brought under both Sections 90 and 90A of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA)
  • UK delivery company Yodel Delivery Network Limited on its successful defence of an expedited trial of claims brought by companies connected to its former owner alleging an entitlement to a majority of the shares in Yodel, including the successful defence of an application for an interim injunction, both at first instance and in the Court of Appeal

Background

Noel graduated with a First Class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Durham University before completing the GDL and LPC at BPP Law School.
