Six lawyers across Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer's UK and Continental Europe offices have been recognised in Legal Business' Green Ambassadors 2026 series, which highlights leading practitioners supporting decarbonisation initiatives and the green transition.
Global head of ESG/Sustainability Silke Goldberg and UK head of ESG Jannis Bille were recognised for their work in the UK. Across Europe, EMEA ESG co-heads Iria Calviño (Madrid) and Heike Schmitz (Frankfurt), partner Mathias Dantin (Paris) and of counsel Leonie Timmers (Madrid) were listed.
The Legal Business Green Ambassadors 2026 lists recognise private practice lawyers who lead client work supporting sustainability objectives. The research places primary emphasis on client work, alongside broader sustainability engagement, thought leadership and influence within industry networks.
This recognition reflects the strength and depth of the firm’s ESG capabilities across the UK and Europe, underpinned by lawyers with extensive, on-the-ground experience advising clients on matters spanning reporting and disclosures, corporate governance and due diligence, business and human rights, climate change, environmental issues, the energy transition, and sustainable finance and impact investment.
Global Head of ESG/Sustainability Silke Goldberg commented: “We are delighted to see so many colleagues recognised in the 2026 Green Ambassadors series. This reflects the breadth of our ESG practice across the UK and Europe, and our continued focus on supporting clients as they navigate the opportunities and complexities of the energy transition and wider sustainability agenda.”
