Lucy is an Associate in the Tax Investigations and Disputes team.

Lucy has experience advising international banks and wealthy individuals in civil and criminal proceedings. She has particular experience in criminal investigations involving alleged tax fraud. Her pro bono work includes advising on the registration and structure of charities in the UK.

  • Bernie Ecclestone in criminal proceedings relating to an alleged £400 million tax fraud (which proceedings were resolved in parallel with a high-profile civil settlement)
  • Post Office in relation to the Historic Shortfall compensation scheme 
  • Perenco UK on a challenge to its election under s 198 of the Capital Allowances Act 2001 by HMRC

Background

Lucy has a Master of Laws, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Germanic Studies) from The University of Sydney. She was admitted as a lawyer in NSW, Australia in 2020. Lucy was an Associate to the Honourable Justice Wigney of the Federal Court of Australia.
