Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has been selected as counsel to the official committee of unsecured creditors of Anthology Inc., a global provider of education technology (EdTech) software and services, and parent company to Blackboard Learn.
Burdened by more than $1 billion of debt, the company sought Chapter 11 protection in the bankruptcy court in the Southern District of Texas on September 29, 2025. The unsecured creditors committee includes Genius SIS LLC, Glass Technologies Inc., A-LIGN Compliance and Security, Inc. d/b/a A-LIGN, and Avalara, Inc.
