Leading global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer is pleased to announce the arrival of Lorenzo Fusco, who will establish and lead the firm’s new Employment practice in Milan. This launch marks another significant milestone in the firm's journey towards an increasingly integrated, full-service model in Italy. Lorenzo joins the firm as Of Counsel.
With nearly 20 years of experience advising leading national and global companies across multiple sectors, Lorenzo brings deep expertise in a broad range of employment law matters. His focus includes workforce reorganisations and restructurings, domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, executive-level relations, incentive and remuneration plans, as well as employment investigations and litigation.
Lorenzo’s arrival further strengthens Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer’s Italian platform, complementing its existing offering and, in particular, its Corporate M&A practice led by Augusto Santoro. He will also form part of Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer's Global Employment, Pensions and Incentives (EPI) team, strengthening the team's European offering, working closely with the existing teams in Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid in Europe and with the wider Global EPI team in London, New York, the Asia Pacific and Australia.
Laura Orlando, Italy Managing Partner, commented:
“The launch of the Employment practice marks another important step in our growth toward a full-service model. With Lorenzo, we gain top-tier employment law capabilities that integrate seamlessly with our core areas, particularly Corporate M&A and into the wider Global Employment, Pensions and Incentives team. This enables us to meet clients’ needs even more comprehensively in complex transactions and cross-border contexts.”
Lorenzo Fusco added:
“Building Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer’s Italian Employment practice is a challenge I embrace with enthusiasm. In a world where workplace dynamics are constantly evolving, leveraging the firm’s international platform allows us to deliver integrated, strategic employment solutions that support businesses in their most complex decisions. Our goal is to become a trusted partner for those seeking expertise, vision, and the ability to anticipate change.”
Lorenzo’s appointment represents another key step in Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer’s growth strategy for Italy, following the recent addition of Emanuela Da Rin as partner heading the Italian Banking & Finance practice with a team of four lawyers, and, in 2023, the promotion of Emily Bottle to partner in the IP practice and the arrival of Augusto Santoro as partner leading the Italian Corporate M&A team.
With Lorenzo Fusco joining, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer now counts nine partners, five Of Counsel and one senior trademark attorney in Italy.
