Aisling Railton
Aisling is a solicitor in the Australian Environment, Planning and Communities team.
Aisling advises government and private sector clients on environment and planning matters affecting major energy, infrastructure and urban development projects, including planning approvals, biodiversity and conservation, native title and Indigenous cultural heritage, land access and compulsory acquisition, and environmental compliance and litigation.
Aisling’s government experience gives her deep insight into how regulators and decision-makers approach complex environmental and planning issues. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a solicitor at the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office and in the UK Government, where she completed a secondment to the UK Supreme Court as Deputy Registrar. She also completed a Master of Laws at Harvard Law School, where she was a member of the Emmett Environmental Law and Policy Clinic.
Background
Aisling holds an LLM from Harvard Law School, an MSc (IP) from the University of Oxford, and a JD (Dist.) from the University of New South Wales. She is admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia.
