Cristina L. Martinez is an experienced litigator with over 17 years of experience representing intellectual property clients in the fields of energy, technology, entertainment, and medical devices.

She handles all aspects of complex business and intellectual property litigation, including patent infringement, copyright infringement and trademark prosecution and disputes.  

A seasoned trial lawyer, Cristina represented clients in over 15 trials, obtaining favorable outcomes in landmark intellectual property disputes. Her representation includes both plaintiffs and defendants, ranging from innovative startups to Fortune 500 companies. Cristina is focused on advising companies in the energy sector, ranging from oil and gas to renewables. She also maintains an active appellate practice, regularly representing clients before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Cristina is dedicated to providing pro bono services, most recently obtaining a favorable outcome for a renowned photographer whose copyrighted images were being used without authorization. She serves on the Women's Initiative Committee, US and Associates Committee, US to support the firm’s goals of business and professional development, mentoring, recruitment and retention. Cristina previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph A. Dickson, U.S.M.J. for the District of New Jersey.

  • Successfully represented innovative start-up company Acceleration Bay in patent infringement trials against major videogame and webserver companies, including Activision Blizzard and Amazon Web Services.

  • Successfully represented technology company Centripetal Networks, Inc., in patent infringement actions against major technology companies, including Palo Alto Networks and Keysight.

  • Represented Nasdaq-listed cybersecurity company Finjan Inc., in a patent infringement suit against Sophos.

  • Represented Prism Technologies LLC in patent infringement actions against the major cellular carriers.

  • Defended investors against avoidance actions, or “clawback actions,” brought by the SIPA Trustee in connection with the Madoff Ponzi scheme.

  • Conducted internal investigations for financial institutions regarding regulatory violations by current and former employees.

  • Represented broker-dealers in investigations by FINRA and the SEC regarding violations of state and federal securities laws and regulations.

  • Served as counsel to a federal monitor appointed by the Office of the U.S. Attorney pursuant to a deferred prosecution agreement to oversee the activities of one of the nation’s largest orthopedic device manufacturers.
