Maxime is an associate in the Paris Dispute Resolution team. 

Maxime advises and assists clients on a wide range of areas involving a risk of criminal prosecution or condemnation.

His practice focuses both on contentious and non-contentious matters, from the implementation of compliance programmes (AML-CFT, Sapin II Law, international sanctions and Duty of Vigilance) to trial (civil, administrative and criminal proceedings), including assistance during inspections by regulators (AFA (the French Anti-Corruption Agency), DGCCRF (the Directorate General for Consumer Affairs, Competition and Fraud Prevention ) and OLAF (the European Anti-Fraud Office)), as well as negotiating deferred prosecution agreements and legal advice on sensitive operations (finance, trade, corporate).

Maxime has advised large listed and unlisted corporate groups from various sectors including luxury, investment funds, financial institutions, telecommunications, retail, defence and automotive.

He was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2021 and is fluent in French and English.

  • assisting a major European industrial group as part of a control conducted by the French Anticorruption Agency and subsequent redesign and implementation of its anticorruption compliance programme
  • assisting a regulated retailer as part of a control conducted by the Directorate General for Consumer Affairs, Competition and Fraud Prevention regarding compliance with AML-CFT requirements
  • assisting and providing legal opinions/advice to a wide range of companies in the course of their activities regarding compliance with economic sanctions
  • defending several individuals charged with favouritism, embezzlement and subsequent money laundering as part of the performance of public contracts
  • defending an elected official charged with the embezzlement of public funds and illegal taking of interest in relation to several decisions taken by the city council he was part of
