Paula is an Associate in the Competition, Regulation and Trade group in Brussels.

Paula advises clients on all aspects of EU competition law, including merger control, cartel and antitrust investigations, horizontal and vertical agreements, compliance programs, State aid, and Foreign Subsidies Regulation. She has represented clients in antitrust and cartel cases before the European Commission and has significant experience across various sectors, including automotive, energy, manufacturing and industrials, sports, and retail.

Paula has developed expertise in vertical restraints, regularly advising clients on issues such as resale price maintenance, online sales restrictions, and selective distribution. Additionally, she has gained expertise in horizontal cooperation agreements, particularly within the automotive sector.

Paula also advises on international trade issues, including anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, and safeguard investigations.

Background

Paula holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in EU and International Law from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), as well as two Bachelor's degrees in Law and Business Administration and Management from Universidad de Alicante (Spain). She also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in EU and Spanish Competition Law from Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (Spain).

Before joining HSF, Paula worked as an associate at an international law firm in Brussels and at a boutique law firm in Spain. She also gained experience as a trainee at the Legal Service of the European Commission and at a multinational e-commerce company.

Paula is admitted as an Abogada by the Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Madrid and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Additionally, she is a member of the Brussels Bar e-list.
