Stephen Ferguson
Stephen conducts case law research and analysis in support of litigation strategy. His recent work includes preparing client-facing assessments of legal risk in land use matters related to municipal development projects. He also has contributed to large-scale discovery efforts by synthesizing complex records into structured chronologies and witness matrices.
In his pro bono practice, Stephen helps transgender clients correct their legal identity documents. He also monitors and analyzes state-level legal developments affecting transgender rights, preparing updates for a policy tracker published by Lawyers for Good Governance. Additionally, through the City Bar Justice Center, Stephen assists veterans seeking disability compensation and drafts letter briefs to support their claims.
Stephen returns to the firm after participating in the 2024 summer associate program. During law school, he interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, serving on the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force and in the Public Corruption Unit. In his school’s Housing Clinic, Stephen secured a favorable settlement for a client facing a wrongful foreclosure action. He also contributed to an affirmative litigation housing matter, where he drafted a motion for summary judgment, handled discovery disputes and coordinated with co-counsel and the client.
