Experience

Ambatovy

Advising the largest sponsor, Sumitomo, on the restructuring of the Ambatovy project in Madagascar by way of a Part 26A restructuring plan.  This was one of the most significant restructuring plans in the market in 2025 in light of the significant haircut to the project's debt and the use of an emergency super senior bridge facility provided by the sponsors as the senior class for the purposes of cross-class cram down under the restructuring plan

Oneweb

Advising Bharti Global Limited, a member of the consortium with the UK Government (through the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strate), on the acquisition of the OneWeb business in connection with its court-supervised sale process. The consortium’s winning bid enabled OneWeb to successfully emerge from a Chapter 11 process

Toucan

Advising the Interpath administrators of Toucan on issues arising from the failure of the business.  This included running an M&A process to maximise value for creditors – resulting in the UK's largest solar transaction. This matter was the winner of the 2025 Global RTI Awards: Corporate Rescue of the Year (Large)

Mediapro

Advising Southwind in connection with the €620 million recapitalisation of the leading Spanish business Mediapro, including in relation to a financial restructuring of the c. €1 billion of debt and all dealings with creditor groups pursuing diverging strategies and the subsequent refinance of the remaining debt

EnQuest plc

Advising the co-ordinating committee of lenders to EnQuest, the largest independent UK oil producer in the North Sea, in connection with the group's restructuring involving a capital raise, amendment and restatement of senior facilities and scheme of arrangement of the group's high yield bonds and retail notes

Chinese infrastructure investment fund

We advised a Chinese infrastructure investment fund and their appointed receivers on the enforcement of security following a default under a convertible bond issued by the holding company of a telecoms infrastructure operator in Hong Kong. The security package included 100% of shares in the operating company, which holds the telecommunication and regulatory licences. Our Finance, Litigation, Employment teams worked together to prevent removal of customer records and IT equipment, fend off intra-group claims and employee claims, and defeat a competing creditor's attempt to have provisional liquidators appointed. Our Finance team structured a credit bid to sell the company to an SPV of the investment fund. Drawing from the expertise of our TMT practice, we made sure that all the regulatory and licensing requirements on change of control are met. A clean receivership sale was ultimately made possible
