Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer continues its drive towards a next-gen, tech-enabled service offering with the roll out of a new fact intelligence platform across its Disputes practice.
The deployment follows the firm's collaboration with Wexler.ai since 2023 and marks another significant example of the firm's strategic commitment to using cutting-edge technology to deliver value for its clients.
The new tool has been developed by Wexler.ai with input from HSF Kramer’s legal technologists to help clients better understand and manage matter documentation, whilst also reducing the time needed to review case material. Its adoption follows a pilot, during which HSF Kramer helped tailor the platform to best meet the firm's clients' needs.
"Few people doubt the transformative potential of technology to enhance the way in which case materials can be analysed at scale and with speed. With the volume of data requiring analysis only increasing, the ability to provide a comprehensive suite of tools which collectively help our lawyers assess information, identify gaps and enhance decision-making can only be good for our clients," says Paul Hogg, Head of Digital Projects (Digital Change) at HSF Kramer.
Created as a web-based interface, the tool has been designed to help identify contradictions in evidence and testimonies, extract key facts easily and build timelines that create a picture of events leading up to disputes.
As one of the latest additions to HSF Kramer's suite of digital tools, the new platform follows trials of tools such as Harvey, CoCounsel, CoPilot and the release of an AI Tracker earlier this year, the Global ESG Tracker in June 2024 and before that, the creation of in-house developed tools such as Jigsaw and the firm's Decision Tree Analysis.
"Our ongoing collaboration with Wexler is a great example of our strategic commitment to developing innovative solutions that deliver value for our clients. We helped the Wexler team refine the platform after an early trial and with its latest enhancements, we have now deployed it across our disputes practice. Our clients and colleagues are already seeing the benefits," adds Charlie Morgan, Partner in HSF Kramer's Disputes Practice.
