Leading global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer welcomes technology transactional lawyer Burr Eckstut as head of its US Technology Transactions practice and a partner in its Corporate group in New York.  

Burr advises clients on a wide spectrum of IP and technology-driven transactions, including licensing and development agreements, IP acquisitions, joint ventures, and the IP aspects of M&A and other corporate transactions. He has particular experience in fintech (including digital assets, blockchain technology, financial markets, banking, and payments), energy and infrastructure (with a focus on energy transition technologies), and AI (including commercialization, data licensing and governance).

Burr is recognized by Chambers & Partners as a leading technology transactions practitioner and as an industry leader in fintech.

Burr joins HSF Kramer from White & Case, where he was a partner. He previously held roles at Covington & Burling and Bloomberg LP. He earned a J.D. and M.A. from Duke University and B.A. from Grinnell College.
