Arnold focuses on international arbitration covering construction, engineering and complex commercial disputes.

Arnold has extensive experience advising international clients on a wide-range of cross-border disputes, particularly in the engineering, energy, and infrastructure sector, as well as on complex commercial issues including disputes involving shareholders agreements, supply agreements and mining agreements. He has advised and acted in arbitrations under various institutional rules, including ICC, SIAC, AIAC, and UNCITRAL.

Arnold has also regularly assisted clients with various forms of project execution issues, dispute avoidance, and contract drafting and negotiation in major projects across the globe.

  • a Japanese multinational conglomerate in relation to disputes arising out of a 1710 MW and 1509 MW natural gas fired power plants and water desalination plants in the Middle East
  • a Chinese state-owned construction and engineering company on disputes arising from the development of a major media broadcasting complex
  • a Korean multinational company in an arbitration relating to disputes arising out of the construction of a high-rise superstructure skyscraper
  • a Malaysian state-owned power company in relation to disputes arising out of the construction of a major hydroelectric power plant in Southeast Asia
  • an Irish aviation leasing company in relation to disputes concerning $3.5 billion in aviation insurance claims for lost aircraft in Russia

Background

Arnold holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Leeds. He was admitted to the English Bar in 2016 and the Malaysian Bar in 2018.
