Carolyn has extensive experience advising on complex competition, consumer and economic regulation matters. Carolyn has advised clients across a broad range of sectors including financial services, telecommunications, consumer products, energy, infrastructure, and health and pharmaceuticals.
Carolyn has acted for clients in relation to ACCC investigations and proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia, Supreme Court of Australia and the Australian Competition Tribunal.
Carolyn’s experience includes advising:
- Ampol on its A$1.1 billion proposed acquisition of EG Australia.
- Suncorp Group on its $4.9bn sale of Suncorp Bank to ANZ.
- Integral Diagnostics on its ~A$1billion merger with Capitol Health.
- NAB on its acquisition of Citi’s Australian consumer business.
- Santos on its defence of AER enforcement proceedings under the National Gas Rules.
- BHP on the Australian competition clearance of the merger of BHP Petroleum and Woodside.
- Seven West Media on a range of competition matters including its sale of Pacific Magazines to Bauer Media and the acquisition of Prime Media.
- A large telecommunications business on economic regulatory and pricing frameworks.
- International shipping company in cartel conduct proceedings commenced by the Commonwealth DPP in Australia.*

Background
Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honours) from the University of Sydney.
Carolyn is admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
