Christon is a Senior Associate in Competition, Regulation and Trade team at Herbert Smith Freehills in London. He has advised clients on some of the most complex and high-profile competition matters in a wide range of sectors, including consumer, energy, real estate, transport, technology and telecommunications.
Christon has extensive experience across the full spectrum of competition work, with a particular focus on merger control and competition litigation. He has advised clients on securing clearance from competition regulators for key strategic transactions, including on many Phase 2 merger investigations before the Competition and Markets Authority and European Commission. Christon also has extensive experience in competition litigation across Europe, including advising on individual and collective claims. In addition, his experience includes advising on digital markets regulation, foreign direct investment controls, competition law investigations, advisory matters, as well as compliance training.
Christon was previously seconded to the CMA where he worked in their Mergers team.
Christon has been recognised as a Future Leader by Lexology Index (previously Who’s Who Legal) each year between 2019 and 2025. He is an editor of the Competition Law Journal published by Edward Elgar.
