Graeme's practice covers the full spectrum of work health and safety matters, including crisis management, incident response, regulatory engagement, and general advisory.
Graeme also assists clients in relation to general employment and workers compensation matters and is well versed in assisting clients in navigating the intersection between work health and safety, employment, and workers compensation laws.
Graeme has a diverse client base and acts as a trusted advisor to a number of Australia’s largest employers across various sectors, including mining, energy, construction and financial services.
Graeme’s general advisory work includes assisting clients to understand and comply with corporate and personal obligations under work health and safety laws, including through the provision of training and advice to senior leaders, executives and boards of directors, and the development of corporate governance and reporting frameworks to facilitate compliance.
He also provides support in relation to crisis management following workplace incidents, including managing interactions with regulators, workers and other interested parties. He regularly supports clients in reviewing and complying with statutory notices, and in responding to charges under work health and safety laws.
Graeme also supports clients in relation to the management of injured workers, and workers compensation matters generally. This includes supporting client with managing interactions with workers compensation insurers, injured works, and other interested parties.
Graeme is regularly called upon by clients to conduct investigations into complex workplace matters, including allegations of serious misconduct, such as bullying, harassment, and sexual harassment, as well as disclosures made under whistle-blower protection laws.
Graeme also has considerable experience representing clients in relation to employment matters, having advised clients across the full spectrum of employment issues. This includes appearances before Fair Work Commission, as well as New Zealand’s Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court and Court of Appeal.
