Howard Chan
Howard specialises in competition and antitrust law, FDI regulation and other regulatory regimes in Asia and Europe.
Howard is a member of our Competition, Regulation and Trade team in Asia. He has an in-depth knowledge of competition law regimes across Asia (including Hong Kong, Mainland China, and South East Asian jurisdictions such as Singapore and Indonesia), as well as the EU and UK. His practice also includes FDI regulation and other regulatory regimes in Asia and Europe, such as the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation.
Howard frequently advises on complex antitrust issues arising in cross-border transactions, joint venture structures, and other forms of cooperation arrangements. He has worked for clients across many different industries, with a particular focus on the automotive, consumer goods, energy, banking, and TMT sectors.
Howard's expertise is widely recognised in a number of legal practitioners guides. He is ranked as a Leading Associate by Legal 500, and a Competition Future Leader (Non Partner) by Who's Who Legal.

Background
Howard obtained his LLB degree at the University of Warwick and an LLM in International Commercial Law at University College London, and is a native English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) speaker. Howard has previously completed secondments in our London and Tokyo offices.
