Inigo is a dispute resolution lawyer tri-qualified in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, and New York, and assists clients resolve complex disputes.

Inigo’s practice centres on the resolution of complex disputes in all key fora, with a particular focus on international arbitration (before tribunals and in court-related litigation).  He has a range of experience across multiple sectors, including construction, infrastructure and energy, having advised and represented:

  • a head contractor in an ICC arbitration seated in Paris, regarding the construction of a powerplant
  • a major oil and gas company in an ICC arbitration seated in New York, regarding the construction of an LNG facility and related offtake agreement
  • a global energy company in an ICC arbitration seated in Australia, regarding the provision of technology services
  • an EPC contractor in an ICC arbitration seated in Singapore, regarding the construction of an LNG facility
  • a principal in an AMINZ arbitration seated in New Zealand, regarding the construction of a luxury apartment complex

Inigo is associated with leading arbitral institutions, including being a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and being on the Board of Reporters for the ITA’s Arbitration Report.  He has also authored articles regarding public international law and international arbitration.

Background

Inigo is tri-qualified in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia (WA and Federal Courts), and New York.  He completed his LL.B. (Hons) at the University of Auckland, holds a LL.M. (Hons) from the University of Melbourne, and a LL.M. from the University of Miami where he attended as a White & Case Scholarship recipient.  Inigo is fluent in English and proficient in Spanish.
